Have your say about the future of Careers Support: Join a focus group

The University of Manchester (UoM) Careers Service is undertaking a strategic review to update our support for students' career development journeys. At the heart of our vision is the user experience, including students and recent graduates, employers and academic staff.

Get involved

We are holding a number of focus groups with students and recent graduates in February / March 2025 to inform our future strategy. This is your chance to get involved!

Our approach consists of four key themes and will be discussed in three types of focus groups, we will also discuss other underpinning themes such as the use of AI.

Theme 1: Careers support for international students

How can the Careers Service and the University adjust its employability and careers support in response to the challenges international students and graduates face in the changing global employment landscape?

Theme 2: Making careers support inclusive

How can Careers Service and the University make employability and careers support more accessible to students and graduates from different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, disabled students, LGBTQ+ students, independent students and other underrepresented communities?

Theme 3 and 4: Including employability in the curriculum and access to work experience

How does employability fit in the curriculum and outside of it? How can the Careers Service and the University improve access to skills, careers workshops, internships, placements and more?
