- Select an interview. (Why not try one of our getting started faculty based interviews to see how it works.)
- You’ll receive an email with the interview link to complete within the deadline (usually 5 days). If you miss the deadline you can request to extend via the interview link.
- After each question you can review your performance and get tips to improve. You can re-try the question as many times as you like.
- After completing the interview you’ll get an email with a link to see your interview answers and automated AI feedback on rate of speech (how fast you were speaking) and whether you used filler words.
If you have a disability or learning difficulty eg. dyslexia,
- You can ask employers for reasonable adjustments to give you fair access to interviews.
- If you would like to request a practice Shortlist.Me interview with added thinking and answer time please contact us via Questions in CareerConnect.
- On Shortlist.Me, after each question attempt you can pause to give you extra thinking time and you can re-take the question as many times as you like until you’re ready to move on.
What technology do I need?
- Shortlist.Me works best with Google Chrome.
- A laptop or smartphone/tablet.
- A working webcam, microphone and good internet connection.
- Check your device gives permission for shortlister to use camera and mic. (Bluetooth airpod style headsets are not recommended, some Apple updates may also interfere with access)

You are required to opt-in to the Shortlister privacy statement to access and complete an interview. Shortlister privacy notice can be found by clicking here. Records older than 12 months will be removed in December each year. If you need to access the system again once your record has been removed, please register again.
If students and graduates are offered more detailed feedback Careers Staff will have access to this interview.
Information provided will be used to inform and develop Careers support materials and at times support students and graduates with further interview practice.
